The idea for what ultimately became 'Our Founding Story' originated in discussions among The Atlantic Philanthropies board members. They recognized that implementing the final stage of Chuck Feeney’s Giving While Living philosophy would precipitate a rare event in the philanthropic world as one of the largest foundations of our time intentionally wound down operations while ramping up its final big-bet grants. This book tells the story of this process, through more than 30 interviews with the founders and shapers of the Atlantic Fellows community.
