Job Posting: Communications Lead at the Atlantic Institute

The Atlantic Institute was established in 2016 with the support of The Atlantic Philanthropies, and in collaboration with the Rhodes Trust, Oxford (UK).  The Institute was created to foster collaboration across six recently-established Atlantic Fellows Programs, and to support the development of a global community of lifelong Atlantic Fellows.  The six Programs, located around the world, empower communities of emerging leaders for social equity.  The Programs have at their core the goal of advancing towards fairer, healthier and more inclusive societies. More information about the Programs can be found at our website.

The Atlantic Institute is seeking a Lead for Communications. Reporting to the Executive Director, this is an exceptional opportunity to be a member of small, high-performing team. The Lead for Communications will be an experienced communications and knowledge- management professional who can develop, deliver and monitor all aspects of an effective communications and knowledge strategy.  With an understanding of the six global programs, they will lead on knowledge curation and cross-program findings, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing across the programs and the global alumni community. They will lead also on external communications, articulating the values and engagement of the Atlantic Fellows community, coordinating and issuing news releases and campaigns when appropriate, supporting the six programs in implementing the Atlantic Fellows global identity and brand, and coordinating social media and other communication channels.  The role offers a unique opportunity to shape the work of the Institute, and therefore it is likely that responsibilities will evolve as the Institute develops.

The right candidate is a strategic thinker and doer who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment and works well with a diverse set of external stakeholders. This person will not only enhance the impact of the six Atlantic Fellows programs through effective communications, but also promote effective communication between the Institute and a broad range of highly influential international organisations. The appointee will bring a nuanced and strategic approach to amplifying the voice and impact of a thriving and transformational community of lifelong Atlantic Fellows.
